Repository-level developer friction
GitHub issues and discussions can expose reproducible failures, blocked workflows, requested alternatives, workarounds, and repeated product limitations. BuildSift retains the original source URL for traceability.
Research guide / Source boundaries
V1 deliberately uses two primary sources. Narrow source boundaries make collection behavior, provenance, and limitations easier to inspect.
GitHub issues and discussions can expose reproducible failures, blocked workflows, requested alternatives, workarounds, and repeated product limitations. BuildSift retains the original source URL for traceability.
Hacker News discussions can add cross-project context, independent user accounts, and commercial or operational concerns that are not visible inside a single repository.
Reddit, Product Hunt, X, app stores, and other social or review sources are outside the V1 primary collection scope. BuildSift does not imply coverage it does not have.
Observed comments, issues, reactions, and discussions are reported as collected facts. They are never silently converted into revenue, market size, or customer-count claims.
